Head of state Ragnos's death left a power struggle between Sadow and Kressh. Deeply troubled, Skywalker nonetheless helped Palpatine kill Windu, and thus became the Emperor's new apprentice, Darth Vader. Imperial commandos were trained and used by Imperial Intelligence in many operations to undermine Republic Strategic Information Service and assassinate high priority targets. The Crucible long outlived the empire it served. This meant that they lived both a barbaric yet strangely harmonious existence on their homeworld. A defeated Naga Sadow attempts to rebuild on Yavin 4.
Early in their history, the Sith Empire came to realize the potential in the use of automated droids to enhance the combat performances of their military. This was partly also an attempt by Kressh to take the mantle of leadership of the Sith Empire.
The Sith Empire developed in complete isolation within the Stygian Caldera for two thousand years before it eventually rediscovered the Republic.
